Friendly Ceramics is a solo operation by Melbourne-based ceramicist Hannah Friend, who throws pots on the wheel and hand builds from her home in Northcote. She enjoys bringing joy to everyday life through her gorgeous functional pieces.

As well as making pots, Hannah is also a chef and social-media coordinator at a local social enterprise, and freelance writer.

“Time is precious, and I love spending my non-work days in the home studio with our puppy, Albey (aka Albus Dumbledog). I enjoy the patience and slowness ceramics requires, as it clay will never be rushed, which makes each piece that comes out of the kiln even more special. I work hard to ensure my impact on the planet is minimal, recycling scraps of clay, using a communal kiln, reusing packaging material and using compostable packing peanuts."
